SMILE from Hiroshima :)

Hello there. First of all, I am very sorry people who suffer major damage by the big earthquake. And I would like to thank people who gave us lots of warm messages from all over the world. We did not have any damage in Hiroshima (West side of Japan). The weather has been really warm and sunny these days, so cherry blossoms are blooming really quickly now. I would like all the people to enjoy their trip in Hiroshima even in this situation. I have been thinking that I would like to cheer everybody up by smile. We are more than happy to suggest you some ideas for your enjoyable trip in Japan. Please ask us anytime, if you are worried about any things for your trip. We look forward to meeting you in Hiroshima Hana Hostel with a big smile :)

The Thousand Paper Cranes Project

As Hiroshima Hana Hostel staff Kumi posted a blog about A Thousand Paper Cranes before. Kyoto Hana Hostel had started The Thousand Paper Cranes Project for those affected by The Tohoku Pacific Earthquake.

Please make some paper cranes when you stay. It's not difficult at all. We have "how to make" guide, too.

We have made more than a hundred for these 4 days!

Shame on me! I wasn't able to make a paper crane before.... now I am an expert.

Kimono experience

Hello everyone!! It's mana from Kyoto Hana Hostel :) In Japan, Spring is the season for starting and ending of School, work and so on. One of my friend Jiulia had just graduated from the Japanese language school this spring and she was going back to Italy. Before she leaves Japan, we went to try Kimono(traditional cloths) together to make a memorable day:)
There are couple of places that you can rental kimono and professional kimono dresser does dress you up perfectly and you can even go for a walk around town!! Isn't it such a exciting experience?

Julia chose purple flowered fabric and purple outer (this is only for winter) , she also got a hair done with the pretty hair accessory. She was so CUTE!

I picked up white kimono and Pink outer wh
ich i have never tried:)

Then we headed to the area where the old narrow streets are one of the characteristic of Kyoto(sightseeing spot).

We enjoyed to take a lot of pictures. Even the other tourists at the area (who we never know) was taking picture of us in Kimono. we were very embarrassed...

* The man between us is Tony(from Switzerland), He is my share-house mate at J-Stay. He always holds party at our place and entertain people:) We are very good friends!!

It was definitely memorable day for us, especially for Jiulia.
I hope she will do the best in Italiy!!

See you again!
MATANE!

The power of 'Smile'

Has it been spring yet!?
I cannot believe that it's been this cold even though it is already end of March!!

I'm very concerned about people who have been suffered the earthquake.
What we can see everyday on TV are mostly poignant news.
I am struggling to think what I can do for them now.
It is very difficult to figure out the answer, and not knowing what I can do makes me have a hard time.

He came to Japan to visit his daughter who has been studying abroad in Japan.
I am sure that he was very worried about her since that earthquake.
He said it is his fist visit Kyoto and Japan.
They had a great delightful smile!!

I appreciate all our guests with pleasing smiles.
They give me positive energies, and make me happy.

She came to Japan to attend her daughters graduation ceremony.
However, because of the earthquake, it was cancelled.
Now, they are traveling east Japan.
Great smile brought me a splendid day!!

Because of the time Japan now, I strongly believe that smiles give people energies to move forward!! Also, they give people a lot of happiness.
I want to give our guests such energies and happiness with welcoming them at Hana.

"Empty Canvas"

On the empty canvas

A man falls when the suction of the precipice commences

Unlike other crevices

One will drip down the canvas ere a man hit the ground at once

The eyes do not tell

But the reflection of the eyes will reflect

For those who dwell

And one shan’t defect

When java sparrows sing,

Under the winged denizens, the ritual dance takes place

Peruvian nutshells are attached to the ankles to swing

And shake, the trees are always ready to embrace

Lacerate the synthetic relations

Artificial populations
