Pickles buffet in Kyoto

"Akoya-chaya" is the one of the restraint which is located near by the  Kiyomizu-temple in Kyoto. 
I heard this restaurant is currently popular for people who are visiting Kyoto,especially for ladies!! At this restaurant, you can taste more than 25 types of pickles made from Kyoto vegetables with rice. You know,  girls always love to have the different variety of things, little by little;)


I get on the bus to the bus-stop "Kiyomizu michi" and walked about 10mins on the
 Kiyomizu michi and it was just at the corner of the same street and  "Ninen-zaka"street.

There were of course people were waiting even tho it was rainy day! Waiting time was not a big problem as long as we got food!

Ordering was very easy. You order either the set of "Green-tea" or "houji-tea" and the staff brings these empty plates and bowls in just 1.5mins!!

                             Miso paste was in the middle of thin layers which is made of rice cake, as you put hot water, it melts and becomes Miso soup!  Love the ideas!!

Wow, that is a lot and unique veggy pickes!

If you could not finish all of it, you can put the rest pickles on the rice and put some tea (it is called BUBUZUKE or OCHAZUKE)and swallow it!! 
  

With the pickles, I can enjoy the real taste of rice because of there simpleness.

Of course, sweets were waiting for us.
The sandwich of red-beans paste and white beans paste in the the dried rice cake layers.

      If you want to taste both, why don't you make Half and half like Pizza combination?

I bought the pack of pickles i liked. Personally i recommend the cucumber pickled by Shiso leaves.

how to Udon

"Marukame se-men". 

 The restaurant is a chain and is everywhere in the cities in Japan.

Here is how to order the menu.

1.choose what kind of Udon you want.(cold noodle? noodle with soup? or noodle with egg?)

little information,the staff is usually mid-aged lady like as Oka-san(the mother)

2.During they are preparing the noodle as boiling,you can choose any tempura or rice balls for your side meal.  They are all around 100yen for each.

 3.get udon from the counter.

5.put any variety of spice like (leaks, ginger or red spice).

 generally, ginger and leaks matches with Udon noodle.

7. That 's everything! you can make your own set meals:)

I recommend this restaurant because it is very good for the reasonable price.

If you are saving money for travel, go and get the cheapest udon for your lunch and dinner!

The taste is definitely good and it is sure it will be one of your favorite!

☆Restaurants near by HANA Hostel☆

It's suppose to be getting warmer now but still quite chilly these days..I can't wait for spring and Cherry Blossom.

Hiroshima HANA Hostel is located near by Hiroshima station. There are a lot of place to eat around there.
So very hard to chose where to go.
Let me introduce some places for the people who is visiting Hiroshima in the future.

FUKUICHI is the nearest place to get nice KOROKKE from Hana Hostel. If you feel just little bit hungry then get it! Its only 120 yen! There are 3 different KOROKKE there. Its worth trying all of them!! I go there almost every 3 days.

Kure Korokke

If you like havong noodle, you should go to KAIRI and try TSUKE-MEN. It is one of Hiroshima's specialty. Tsuke-Men is spicy dipping noodle. You can chose how spicy it is. I always try level 3. It's little bit spicy.
I ordered small BBQ on the rice with mayonnaise. Was quite good!

If you wish to try Sashimi, Japanese food, and some Japanese Sake,You should go to Hiroshima Aburi Ichiba BAR. They have different special lunch menu everyday. I like "Aburi Salmon Donburi" It's a broiled salmon with mayonnaise on the rice. It comes with Miso soup and some side dishes. Its only 750 yen!!You can have another bowl of Miso soup for free for lunch time.

BEST PIZZERIA IN KYOTO!

A friend of mine came to visit me from Kobe, my home town.

We went to "Pizzeria Da Yuki". It is close to the Kyoto City Museum.
