Ratatouille

When i work late until the reception is closed(10:00pm), we sometimes have free dinner from the guests is very lucky!!

One day, we had the guests Bruice and Emiline were really cheerful and fun couple from France.

They offered the French food “Ratatouille” It is made with slices of onion, eggplant, zucchini and Tomato.

The food is said that it is originally food for poor people in country-side in ancient times, they develop this food because those ingredients were cheap to get. But here in Japan, they are very expensive so it is not “the food for poor people”. It was incredibly delicious!! They served it with a glass of wine, but unfortunately I was not able to have wine with Ratatouille must be great.

Well, thank you so much for sharing dinner and wonderful time, Bruice and Emiline. I hope you have a great and safe trip around the world! I hope to you them next time again.

Is this Hiroshima !?

Last week was a skiing and snowboarding week
for our staffs!
I went snowboarding 2 days after Yuko went skiing.

I still can't believe that there is such a
Snow Country in Hiroshima.
After 2 hours of driving from Hiroshima city,
here we are...

SNOW SNOW SNOW

I haven't seen this much snow for about 4 years.
Last time I saw was in Canada.
I was so excited to see it again!!

On the same day, Chika from J-Hoppers Hiroshima

Here is a picture of them snowboarding :)

You can enjoy all types of leisure in Hiroshima

★Happy Birthday Yuya★

Hello everyone!!
How have you been??

Kyoto Hana staff, Yuya, had a birthday in the middle of this month.
So we planed to have a little surprise birthday party for him!!

Yuya was working at the reception on his birthday afternoon.
We, Team For Yuya (TFY), were secretly went shopping and secretly started cooking!!
The leader of TFY was our super manager Shin.
He cooked a Japanese traditional hot pot stew of tender beef tendon. It was fantastic!!
For a main dish, we cooked keema curry and naan. Although it was a first time to cook keema curry, we made it just right!! It just because there was MR. Shin!!

He is the best cook!!
Everybody loved the food!!

We also made a birthday cake from rolled cake.

Happy Birthday!!

Even though he could smell all our cooking from the kitchen, he did not say anything.
Thank you very much for being surprised!!
Our guests and staff could have a great time together!!

Ski in Hiroshima Geihoku area!

Hiroshima has been very cold and we have had a lot of snow this year.

I have been thinking about going skiing since the end of last year and I finally hit the slopes this week!!
The weather was good and the snows condition was perfect in the morning.
It became heavy towards the afternoon.

I was quite surprised that there wasn't any snow on the roads to get to the ski field.
The snow blowers had cleared all the snow from the roads. Even in the country side.

The high snow walls along the roads edges felt very comfortable at times. And the houses looked like big puddings with all the snow on the roofs.

It must be so hard to live in this area in the winter if they get this much snow every year.
I been skiing every year since I was 7 years old, and I cannot remember the scenery looking as beautiful as it dose right now. All the rice paddies, houses, farms and vegetation have a crisp, white blanket over them. Its a polar bears playground.

If you would like to go skiing, there are lots of buses going to the ski fields from Hiroshima station shinkansen side. The price is about 6000yen including one day chair lift ticket.
From Hiroshima Hana hostel to Hiroshima station shinkansen side, it is only 5 minutes on foot.

A Happy new year!!

A happy new year!!
How did spend your new year holiday?

Japanese people eat a special selection of dishes during the New Year celebration called osechi-ryōri. Another popular dish is ozōni, a soup with omochi and other ingredients that differ based on various regions of Japan.

I had a Zoni our boss made this time.
It was sooo good! I had 3 bowls of Zoni..I've put on a bit of weight....

Anyway,
I hope that you spent a great new years!!

To Construe Sounds

Of the shaded moon light

The reflection is Olympian

It will return whence it had departed.

Undisguised accordion

Shall guide thee without obduracy.

Hand-picked colours of tunes converge

With the artists those who possess the accuracy

Of fixation on theory of sonic diverge.

The skies are yellow;

Gazed by spider lilies.

Unearth the history of life thus one shall plow.

Envision and imagine the patterns in the ivies.

A cumulus vision still reigns.

In this forgotten yet beautiful lies.

Sunrise 2011

Happy New Year Everyone!!

On the way to work, I always see a sunrise in front of me.

This is the first sunrise of the year.

Not a good pic but a valuable pic :)

Some Japanese people worship the new year's first sunrise.
Many people climb mountains before dawn on New Year's Day
to see the first sunrise from the mountains.

I hope everyone will have a wonderful year!!
