Ride to Sera town

Hello this is Hayateru from Hiroshima Hana Hostel. I recently took a ride to Sera town to visit flower gardens.

Sera is located about 20km north from Onomichi(starting of Shimanami-kaido) and famous for large scale of flower gardens. I visited tulip and lily gardens at this ride.　

At this ride I used express way so it took about 2 hours from Downtown Hiroshima. I visited Tulip gardens(Sera kougen noujou/世羅高原農場) first. About 700,000 tulips were overwhelming.

This garden will be a sea of sunflower in summer and Dahlia in autumn. After that I went to Lily garden(Sera yurien/世羅ゆり園）. Half million of Lilies and a number of Violas also made me astounded.

I went though new express way called "flight road" that connects Hiroshima airport to Sera town. I used express way at this ride so my Ninja engine condition is good. I think fuel consumption should be more than 30km per litter.That was refreshing ride.

Its getting hotter in Hiroshima these days. Summer is on its way!! Gotta protect my skin from ultraviolet light...

The baseball season has begun !! I got a baseball ticket from regular guest who could not go, so I went to MAZDA stadium instead of him ! How lucky I was ! It was the first time of this year so I was so excited.

The game was suppose to start at 6pm but I had a nap at home and got up at 6pm OMG.
On the way, I found out that I left my ticket at home, so I run back and got it, 2nd OMG.
By that time I got stadium was already 7:15pm...3rd OMG...
Hiroshima already got a one point and winning. hmmm I already missed out one of the best part...4th OMG.
But who cares...I decided to enjoy my beer and game. B U T it was windy and chilly so could not really enjoy and finish it..I was shivering with cold weather.5th OMG.

Hiroshima won the game but the game wasn't that exciting, Was stable, constant game. What I wanted to watch was crazy and exciting, fight over the point game.

 I ended up drinking with Chika(J manager )  at Izakaya after game and satisfied with my day off at the end.

Baseball ticket is sold from 1600yen and its only 5 minutes walk from Hiroshima HANA Hostel!

Lets enjoy the game and cheer for cheer for Hiroshima CARP!

Happy 2nd Anniversary Kyoto Hana Hostel!

Hello everyone! How have you been? I can feel the summer already!! Now, I would like to address a great announcement! It is a 2nd anniversary of Kyoto Hana Hostel this May, 2012!!! Yay!! Time has passed by so quickly since it was opened!! As an opening staff, I have met a lot of people including guests and staff. I also have seen people off from this hostel...ummmm Let's review what we have been through! The history of Kyoto Hana Hostel has started in May of 2010. This party was held for the first summer of Kyoto Hana Hostel.

Ohhhh, there are much more stories to talk about... I have been having a wonderful time here!! Thank you very much for all the people who have involved with us!! I look forward to seeing new people and, of course, old friends who have been here before!! Let's share invaluable time together here at Kyoto Hana Hostel!!

Pickles buffet in Kyoto

"Akoya-chaya" is the one of the restraint which is located near by the  Kiyomizu-temple in Kyoto. 
I heard this restaurant is currently popular for people who are visiting Kyoto,especially for ladies!! At this restaurant, you can taste more than 25 types of pickles made from Kyoto vegetables with rice. You know,  girls always love to have the different variety of things, little by little;)


I get on the bus to the bus-stop "Kiyomizu michi" and walked about 10mins on the
 Kiyomizu michi and it was just at the corner of the same street and  "Ninen-zaka"street.

There were of course people were waiting even tho it was rainy day! Waiting time was not a big problem as long as we got food!

Ordering was very easy. You order either the set of "Green-tea" or "houji-tea" and the staff brings these empty plates and bowls in just 1.5mins!!

                             Miso paste was in the middle of thin layers which is made of rice cake, as you put hot water, it melts and becomes Miso soup!  Love the ideas!!

Ok, now get ready for the pickles buffet!!

Wow, that is a lot and unique veggy pickes!

If you could not finish all of it, you can put the rest pickles on the rice and put some tea (it is called BUBUZUKE or OCHAZUKE)and swallow it!! 
  

With the pickles, I can enjoy the real taste of rice because of there simpleness.

Of course, sweets were waiting for us.
The sandwich of red-beans paste and white beans paste in the the dried rice cake layers.

      If you want to taste both, why don't you make Half and half like Pizza combination?

I bought the pack of pickles i liked. Personally i recommend the cucumber pickled by Shiso leaves.
